About Me
This isn’t just legal work for me. It’s personal.
I live with ADHD, autism, and bipolar disorder. These aren’t flaws — they’re part of what makes me effective. I’m focused, tireless, and deeply creative. I bring all of that to my work, whether I’m advising a client at 10am or drafting arguments at 2am.
I’m not in the Bar Council’s inner circle. I don’t speak like them. I don’t dress like them. But I win cases — especially the ones that matter most.
My focus is on discrimination law — particularly disability and race — because I’ve lived the effects of both. I fight for neurodivergent individuals, people of colour, and anyone who’s ever been told they don’t belong.
I didn’t come to law through the traditional route. I grew up in environments where courtrooms meant fear, not justice — and after a string of bad decisions and hard lessons, I made a personal vow: I’d master the system that nearly crushed me.
That promise turned into a 20-year career in law. I’ve taught, written, and advised across a wide range of legal subjects, but my real skill lies in seeing the angles others miss.
My lived experience, combined with a sharp legal mind, gives me a unique edge — especially when fighting for people the system often overlooks.
Your Advocate in Employment Law
Welcome. I'm Viv, and for over two decades, I've dedicated my life to the intricate world of law, transforming complex legal principles into clear, actionable strategies for my clients. My journey into law was born from a deeply personal place, a desire to understand and navigate the legal system after my own early encounters with it. This unique perspective, coupled with my lifelong fascination with the law, has equipped me with a profound understanding of its nuances and evolution.
My Approach: Creativity Meets Precision
I am a non-practicing barrister with a unique blend of creativity and hyper-focus, qualities I attribute in part to my ADHD. This allows me to approach legal problems with a distinct vision, seeing solutions others might miss and crafting arguments with a colourful, layered precision that can "checkmate" opposing sides. I have authored around 16 law textbooks and can delve into any legal topic, painting a vivid picture that helps clients understand even the most challenging concepts.
What truly motivates me is the challenge of a difficult case and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people's lives. I thrive on continuous learning, which is why teaching has been such a vital part of my career.
Why Use My Experience?
Unwavering Dedication: I commit 110% to every case I take on. My written work, from grievance letters to Employment Tribunal claims, has been lauded by other lawyers as some of the best they've ever seen.
Empathic Expertise: I truly care about my clients and their struggles. Having experienced discrimination and feeling misunderstood myself, I bring a deeply empathetic and personal understanding to cases involving disability and race discrimination. I want you to feel that you've found the answer to all your problems when you work with me.
Accessible Legal Support: I aim to provide effective legal assistance at a more accessible price point than larger firms, without compromising on quality. I want to be known as the lawyer who can turn your employment tribunal claim into a winning one. Let’s have a call and you can decide.
My Commitment to You
I believe in fighting for what's right, no matter the odds. My goal is to build trust and provide frequent, impactful work for those who need it most. When you work with me, you'll find a caring, supportive, and reliable advocate who is available when you need me. I understand each case thoroughly, offering initial insights and then delivering beautifully crafted, impactful legal documents.
I may have felt misunderstood at times, but my dedication to the law and my clients is unwavering. I am here to help you navigate your employment problems and fight for the justice you deserve.
